The Cobra bracing system is designed to be used either for dynamic support to prevent breakage caused by oscillation induced overstretching by using a shock absorber so that the oscillations of the crown are not impeded, yet load peaks from strong gusts are softly dampened., or used for static support if damage is already present. By immobilizing the critical spot, this prevents enlargement of the crack and helps prevent the branch from breaking off.

This tree bracing system is quick and simple to install and unlike the use of steel cables and bolts, is not invasive and does not damage the tree. Once installed, Cobra bracing is optically unobtrusive and does not spoil the amenity value of the tree. It is designed to be easily adjustable at a later date if required.
